Honora Ruth Wade, 74, of Sullivan, died Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Medina General Hospital. On August 20, 1948, Honora was born in New London to Dewey and Viola Ruth (nee Young) Bennett. She has made her home in Huntington Township since 1965.

She worked in Elyria at Invacare Inc, Woodford Machinery, and at the Sterling Foundry. Honora was a member of the Spencer Baptist Church. She was a talented quilter.

Survivors include her sons, Samuel Bruce Swiger, of Huntington, Bryan Keith (Paulette) Swiger, of Cincinnati; daughters, Yolanda Jo (Keith) Samples, of Oberlin, Dawn Renee Swiger, of Bellevue, and April Nada Marks, of Wakeman; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Sally Bolyard, of TN, Tom Bloom, of NM, and Clara Brown, of Spencer. Honora was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Bennett and Ruth Sherman; siblings, Elizabeth Sue (Libby) Downing, Findley Shanklin Bennett, Blanche Ellen (Charlie) Clark, and Martha Jane Weiler, Juanita Cooper, James Bloom, Billy Joe Bennett, and Donald Bloom.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, October 14, from 11 a.m. until the time of services beginning at 12 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London. Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be shared online at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
