Horace D. Cook Jr., 53, of Shelby, died Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at home, surrounded by his family. Born on June 28, 1968 in Russellville, AR, he was the son of Horace and Wanda (nee Barnett) Cook Sr. Horace graduated from Plymouth High School and lived in the Richland county area most of his life.
Horace was a construction worker and union carpenter. He loved to build things and took great pride in having built bridges with Shelly and Sands, and numerous other projects through his own business, Cook's Construction. He was a member of the Shelby Owl's club. Horace was an avid outdoorsman, hunting a wide variety of wildlife and enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Erie. He also enjoyed going to auctions, and playing pool with family and friends.
Survivors include his daughter Angelina (Ryan) Fourhman, of San Diego; his girlfriend Charlotte Lacey, of Greenwich, his parents Horace and Wanda Cook, of VA; siblings, Angela (Paul) Walton, of VA, Karla (Brian) Street, of VA, Sarah (Kent) Vartanian, of IL, Jesse (Stephanie) Cook, of PA, Amber (Andrew) McDaniel, of VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, March 4, from 4-7 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main St, Greenwich, and on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until the time of services beginning at 11 a.m., his brother, Pastor Jesse Cook, will officiate and burial will follow at Mt.
