Howard C. Eaton, 95, died Sunday, November 27, 2016 at his home. Born April 8, 1921 to the late Earl T. and Mable (nee Hipp) Eaton, Howard was a lifelong Rochester resident. Howard loved farming. He drove for Chambers farm delivering egg and for various other companies including the Elyria Chronicle Telegram. Howard was the sexton for Rochester Cemetery for many years. A founding member of the Rochester Rod and Gun Club, Howard enjoyed the outdoors. He served on and was also a founding member of the Rochester Volunteer Fire Department, was active with the Rochester Historical Society and was a member of the Wellington Eagles Aerie 2051. He leaves behind his children, Ralph (Marty) Eaton, of Wellington, Marilyn (Bill) McMillan, of Sullivan, Diana (Mike) Mcgee, of New London and Duane (Darlene) Eaton, of Wellington; 2 grandchildren, Rob and Scott and step-grandchildren, Matthew and Michelle; a great grandson; and many nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marvene and siblings, Floyd, Ross, Dale and Evelyn Stocking. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 29 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Rochester Township Cemetery, Griggs Road.
