Obituary

On April 2, 2017 at 1:45 a.m. our beloved son, Hunter Jacob Slone (aka Slone Dog), age 14 years and 15 days, passed at his home in Willard surrounded by his loving family. Hunter was born March 18, 2003 in Norwalk. He was an 8th grade student at South Central Local Schools, Greenwich. Hunter was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved a variety of activities which included gardening, outdoors, riding ATV's, camping, scratch off lottery tickets and showing his market lambs at the Huron County Fair for 4-H. His love of animals helped shape his dream of becoming a veterinarian or zoologist one day. His passion for corn hole led to his reputation as the South Lot Camping Champion at the Huron County Fair. Hunter has battled Ewing Sarcoma since 2011 at the age of eight. His strength and courage was an inspiration to everyone he met. It was well known that "can't" was not in his vocabulary. His smile and love for others was a radiant light known everywhere. His dry, witty humor was a sharp testament of his personality. Hunter will be loved and missed dearly by all who knew his name. His life was short but he filled it full, and his memories will linger on forever by all who knew Hunter. Hunter is survived by his parents, Tim and Heather (Barnett) Slone; his brother, Isom Slone; maternal grandparents, Willis and Linda Barnett; paternal grandparents, Aaron and Sandra Slone; maternal great grandfather, Bill King; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandmother, Traskie King; paternal great grandparents, Donald and Bea Francisco and many close friends. Family and friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Huron County Fairgrounds Expo Building, 940 Fair Road, Norwalk, Ohio 44857 where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 6, with Pastor Mark Wireman officiating. Burial will follow at Edwards Grove Cemetery, Greenwich. "Ohana-Ohana means family, family means no one gets left behind" Online condolences may be made at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
