Icyss Moon, of Monroeville, Ohio, died unexpectedly on February 23, 2019, she was 13 years old. Born Icyss Rayne Nikole Moon on July 16, 2005 in Sandusky, to Deborah Moon, she was raised by her "second mother" Dawn Moon. Icyss was a good student with a vivid imagination, who was artistically gifted. She loved animals and dreamed of some day becoming a veterinarian or scientist. Icyss spoke her mind, was free-spirited, and marched to the beat of her own drum. In addition to her mother, Deborah Moon and "second mother" Dawn (Dayne Williams) Moon, she is survived by her father, Rey (Melissa) Alvarez; siblings, David Scroggy, Rey Alvarez, Vicente Alvarez, Mareyiah Alvarez, Amber Alvarez, Nina Teasley, Adara Newman and Aiyana Alvarez as well as several stepbrothers and stepsisters; grandparents, Vicki Teasley, Randall Moon and Patricia Hayes; great grandmothers, Grace Staley and Doris Hayes; aunt, Donna Stamm; uncle, Dustin Moon; special aunts, Kristi Stanley and Tamara Vanwhy and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her great grandfathers, Larry Motl and Donald Staley and great grandmother, Lissie Motl. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 11 am until the time of the 1 pm service at The Chapel's Norwalk Campus, 156 S Norwalk Rd, Norwalk, Ohio, where Icyss attended and was part of the youth group.
