Iona Marie Cloyd, 84, of Wellington, passed away peacefully at St. John's Medical Center in Westlake on November 5, 2016. Iona was born to the late Charles and Nellie Vet (nee Wilms) Sheen on September 30, 1932 in Greenford Township, Ohio. She graduated from Greenford Township High School in 1950. Iona will be fondly remembered for her spunkiness and satirical sense of humor. She was patriotic, loved tea, gardening, and card games (especially Rummikub). She enjoyed traveling and often visited the kids in Texas, Arizona and Missouri. She had also visited Europe, Hawaii and Amsterdam to name a few places. She kept impeccable records and was the family genealogist. Iona was a lifetime member of the Wellington VFW, Post # 6941, where she had served as a local and district officer. She is survived by her children, Frances (Steven) Mainger of Westlake, OH, Melody Colecchi of Tuscon, AZ, Caroline (Ronald) Fitzwater of Beasley, TX, A. Brent (Angela) Cloyd of Wellington and Debra (Jerry) Hanes of Normantown, WV; grandchildren, Rebecca Mainger, Toni Marie Colecchi, Alicia Colecchi, Carrie Williamson and Luke Fitzwater; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Hazel Nichols, Ruth Schmidt, George Sheen and Charles Sheen. In addition to her parents, Iona was preceded in death by her son, Johann Gregory; grandson, Joshua Aaron Fitzwater; brothers Donald, Paul and Carl and sisters, Blanche, Margaret and Esther. Friends and Family will be received on Tuesday November 8th, from 2-4 p.m. and again at 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main, Wellington where services will be held on Wednesday November 9th at 11 am with burial to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon, OH.
