Norwalk, Ohio - Irene L. Newberger, age 90, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH. Born in Norwalk, OH to the late Carl and Louise (Vasseur) Newberger, she was a lifelong Norwalk resident and a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She retired from Gift Gallery Hallmark store in Norwalk after 45 years of service. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; by her sister, Bernadette Gross of Norwalk; and by her brother, Robert Newberger of Madison Hts., MI. She is survived by her sisters, Alice Patchen of Lakeland, FL., and Evelyn Bibro of Strongsville, Ohio, by her sister-in-law, Millie Newberger of Madison Hts., MI; and by nephews and nieces, including Matt (Lori) Gross, Norwalk; Joe (Lori) Gross, Norwalk; Norbert (Linda) Gross, Naperville, IL; Mark (Debra) Patchen, Westerville, OH; Dr. Myra L. Patchen, Fairfax, VA; Jamie (Phil) Davis, Columbus, OH; Krista (John) Moor, Sarasota, FL; Troy (Brenda) Newberger, Madison Hts., MI; Eric Newberger, Shelby Twp., MI; Dale Bibro, Beckley, WV; Dr. Claudette Bibro (James Ahlstedt), Boston, MA. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Msgr. Kenneth Morman will officiate.
