Obituary

Irene F. Robinson, 95, of Norwalk, died Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Norwalk Memorial Home. She was born September 2, 1918, on the corner of Clark and Laurel in Willard during a flu epidemic, daughter to the late William and Martha (Mueller) Moore. Irene lived in New Haven, New London, Olena and resided in Norwalk since the mid 1990's. She lived 11 years at the Carriage House in Norwalk. She graduated from New London High School in 1936. Irene owned and operated Robinson's West Five Mobile Home Park with her husband Henry. Irene served on the Senior Council in Norwalk. She was a member of the Young at Hearts of North Fairfield, Olena Loyal Neighbors Farm Club and Modern Maids and Matrons of North Fairfield. Irene was a 50 year plus member and past worthy matron of OES Chapter 40, currently Althea Chapter 438 OES. Survived by her son, Ron (Carol) Robinson; daughter, Judy Miller; 4 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter and sister, Verna Ackerman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry. Irene's family will greet friends from 2-4 p.m. with an OES service at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London where a service will be held 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will follow in Olena Cemetery.
