Jack Farmer, 97, of New London, passed away early Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Laurels of New London. He was born March 12, 1918 in Alliance, Ohio, to the late Arthur and Anna (nee Stevens) Farmer. Jack lived most of his life in New London.
After serving his country as a Sargent in the Army Infantry in the Philippians, he worked as a printer for Fair Publishing and Waldorf Marking Devices Inc. Jack retired from the former CE Ward Company.
Jack became an amateur radio operator in 1962 with his call sign as WA8JLB. He enjoyed engaging in two-way personal communications with other amateur operators.
He is survived by his son, John (Goldie) Farmer of New London; daughter, Nan (Richard) Mierzwiak of Toledo; grandson, Aaron (Kristen) Mierzwiak; great grandson, Calvin Carl and 2 nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vondale and sister, Mary Willis.
