Jacob Matthew Barnes, 27, of Norwalk, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Metro Hospital in Cleveland. Born on November 7, 1994 in Norwalk, he was the son of Deborah (nee Isner) and Jeffrey Barnes. Jacob was a lifelong Norwalk resident and a 2013 graduate of Western Reserve High School.

Following graduation, Jacob attended the University of Findlay where he received his bachelor's degree in science. Jacob worked at Barnes Nursery while attending school and currently worked at Firelands Hospital for the past three years as a networking analyst I. Jacob loved his job and all his co-workers. He was a longtime member of 4-H and had recently started attending The Chapel in Norwalk. In his spare time, Jacob enjoyed everything computer related, including computer gaming, building gaming computers, and 3D models. He will be truly missed by all who knew and love him, especially to his niece and nephew who knew him as Uncle Jake Jake. Jacob was our gentle giant and his heart was as big as his stature. He had an infectious laugh and always had a smile on his face. He was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. In a final act of compassion, Jacob was an organ donor. Jacob touched so many lives and will be greatly missed.

Left to treasure his memory are his parents, Jeffrey and Deborah Barnes; sister, Jessica (Alec) Romick; nephew, Korben; niece, Cambria; aunts and uncles, Mike Isner, Jeff Isner, Steven and Karen Wargo, Eddie and Nancy Barnes, and Bob and Linda Sponaugle; and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; aunt, Janet Isner; cousins, Toby, and Derek Isner and Sarah Wargo.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, April 13, from 4-7 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London, OH 44851.
