IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacob Luke
Patterson
May 26, 1993 – February 20, 2023
Jacob Luke Patterson, 29, of Wellington, died Monday, February 20, 2023, from a heart attack, a complication of Muscular Dystrophy. Born on May 26, 1993 in Cleveland, he was the son of David and the late Tammy Sue (nee Wilson) Patterson.
Jacob was a 2010 graduate of Murray Ridge School in Elyria; following graduation Jacob worked in the Murray Ridge Work Center for several years. He recently started working at Alpha Care. Jacob's life was an uphill battle, born with Muscular Dystrophy his doctors said he most likely would not walk nor live past the age of 10, both of which he proved to be wrong. With his limited vocabulary, he developed ways to effectively communicate not only his needs but his compassion for others. Jacob had a love for all things trains, especially Thomas the Tank Engine. He had a way of making others smile and assigned everyone he met an animal name.
Jacob is survived by his loving father, David Patterson, of Wellington; brothers, Adam Patterson, of Elyria and Thomas (Kelly) Heffner, of Wellington; niece, Lily Freja Heffner; aunts, Bobbie (Alan), Kay, and Becky Wilson; and cousins, Taylor and Sierra. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tammy Sue Patterson, and an infant brother, Joshua.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, February 27, from 2-4 p.m. and again from 6 until the time of a memorial service beginning at 7 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, Wellington. Expressions of sympathy and donations in Jacob's memory may be directed online at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
