Jacqueline M. Reed, 78, of New London, Ohio passed Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Stein Hospice, Sandusky.  She was born December 31, 1943, in New London, Ohio to the late Virginia (Evege) and Robert C. Matthews.  Mrs. Reed graduated from New London High School class of 1961 then moved to North Carolina and graduated from Kate Bitting Reynolds Memorial School of Nursing and worked at St. Margaret's Hospital.  She returned to New London and worked at New London Hospital from 1972-1983, then 1983-2004 worked at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky as a nursing supervisor.  She was a lifelong member of the New London Second Baptist Church where she has held many offices.

Mrs. Reed is survived by her 2 daughters, Terri Reed Harper of Simpsonville, SC and Kimberly Denise Capel of Columbus; 4 grandchildren, Aaron Capel, Eric Capel, Dominique Harper and Johnathan Harper; 3 great grandchildren, Ariyana, Eli and Killian; 2 sisters, Joyce Gross and Jean Ann Curry as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John W. Reed, brothers, Robert Matthews Jr., Seward Matthews, David Matthews, Francis Matthews, and John A. Matthews and sister, Lena Roberts.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM Friday February 25, 2022 with services beginning at 2 PM at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London.  Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park, Ashland.  Online condolences may be made at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
