James Warren Althaus, Jr., 66, of Wellington, died Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at home. Born on November 11, 1959, he was the son of Karen (nee Buckley) and the late James W. Althaus Sr. James was a 1977 graduate of Wellington High School and a lifelong resident of Wellington.
James was currently working as a mechanical engineer at General Plug in Oberlin. He was a member of the Wellington VFW, American Legion, and the Wellington Eagles. James served as the secretary for the Eagles golf league for 8 years. He enjoyed golfing, caring for and raising fish in his aquarium, and his classic car. Most of all James cherished time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Pamela (nee Reising) Althaus; daughters, Brandi Althaus, Claudia (Christopher) Johnson; his mother, Karen Althaus; grandchildren, Cara, Lillian, Hakim, Isabella, Laila, Sophia, Harper, Avery, Elouise, Aurora, and Elijah; and siblings, Timothy (Patty) Althaus, Lynette (David) Pickworth, and Christopher Althaus. In addition to his father, James was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Christopher.
