James A. (Red) Brutsche, age 92, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, December 19, 2020. He was born on March 12, 1928 in Norwalk to Edward and Elsie (Myers) Brutsche. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 73 Chicago, IL and a friend of Dr. Bob and Bill Wilson of 71 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Rose, his beloved wife of 47 years Dorothy as well as his brothers John, Henry, Thomas, Robert, Joseph and Anthony.
He is survived by his children; Ann Vogel of Columbus, Ohio, Helen Comyns of Columbus, Ohio, John (Suzanne) Brutsche of Norwalk, Mary Brutsche of Norwalk, Barbara (Jim) Ruble of Ridgeland, SC; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his brothers; Philip of Franklin, IN, Edward of Norwalk, Ohio and sister-in-law Luetta Brutsche of Norwalk.
A humble man who cherished his family James lived his life with kindness, compassion and great generosity to all. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family and in later life walking in his neighborhood.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
