James W. "Jim" Vaught, 76, of Sullivan, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at his home. He was born on July 11, 1938 in Lincoln County, KY to the late William Henry and Margaret (nee Young) Vaught. Jim proudly served in the United States Army.
Jim worked for the Ship Yards in Lorain for several years and then for Will Research in Ashland, where he retired. He enjoyed keeping busy and working on his projects, whether it was tinkering in the garage or actually working on building the house. Jim loved to spend time outside. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on cars.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Brenda K. (nee Wood) Vaught; sons, Joseph James Vaught Sr., of Greenwich, and Eric Scott Vaught, of TX; grandchildren Ashley Moore Hall, Joseph James Vaught Jr., Daniel J. Bakston, Joseph S. Steinburnner Jr., Traniece Vaught, Haley Vaught, Erica Vaught, and Kya Vaught; great-grandchildren Serenity Rose Hall and Harley Renee Risner; siblings, Harvey of Lorain and Opal, of IN. Jim was preceded in death by his siblings John, Eva, Tom, and Mildred.
Friends will be received on Friday September 19, from 6-8 p.m. at the Sullivan Congregational Church, 503 US 224, Sullivan, 44880, where services will be held on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. with Rev.
