Obituary

James E. 'Ed' King, 75, of New London, died Sat., Jan. 17, 2009 at Twilight Gardens, Norwalk. Ed was born November 30, 1933 in Frametown, WV, son of the late, Charles and Myrtle (James) King. He moved to the New London area in 1941 and graduated from Brighton High School in 1952. Ed worked out of the Labors Union Local 480, Sandusky. He worked for the former Joe Bencivengo Masonry of Huron for 25 years and Jennings & Churella formerly of New London for 5 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of New London. Survivors include son, Keith (Sandy) King of Norwalk; 2 daughters, Vickie (Mike) Guenther of Norwalk and Tracy (Craig) Robbins of North Fairfield; a step daughter, Melissa (Andrew) Bucklew of New London; 2 step sons, Mike (Angie) McConnell of Ashland and Robert (Janet) McConnell of Norwalk; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 5 sisters, Merle Blair of Oberlin, Velma Young of Wellington, Kathryn Babitt of Berea, Dora Miller of Rochester and Lois Riggs of Greenville, SC; 3 brothers, Errol King of Willard, Elvin King of Cedarville and Edwin King of Columbus. He was preceded by his 1st wife, Phyliss L. (Oney) King; wife JoAnn (Harner) King; a son, Delman King; and 3 brothers, infant, Elton Dale, Erman King and Charles Ernest King. Friends may call 6-8 pm Tuesday and 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Eastman Funeral Home, New London. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thurs., Jan. 22, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of New London, 432 Park Ave., New London. Burial will follow in Fitchville Cemetery.
