Norwalk, Ohio - James E. Laney, 52, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away early Thursday morning, February 18, 2016 at his home after an extended illness. He was born October 5, 1963 in Paintsville, Kentucky, and had lived in this area most of his life. James graduated with a Bachelor's Degree, from Fortis College of Nursing. He loved helping people. Jim is survived by his children, Shane Laney, of Alabama, Bryan Laney, of Norwalk, Ohio, and Marcia Laney, of Norwalk, Ohio, by 8 grandchildren, and by his mother and step father, Irene and Eddie Cook, of Norwalk, Ohio, by his father, James Laney, of Marion, Ohio. He is also survived by his siblings, Rob Laney, of Cleveland, Ohio, Michael Laney, of New London, Ohio, and Michelle Harter, of Norfolk, Virginia. Friends may call on Saturday, February, 20, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at 4:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk, Ohio. Chaplain Mel Sayler of Stein Hospice Service will officiate. Burial will be in Butcher Cemetery, Boones Camp, Kentucky.
