James "Jim" Lengyel, 74, of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at his home on the day of the Perseid meteor shower. Jim was born in Lorain, OH on July 25, 1947 to the late Alex and Olga (Koleszar) Lengyel.
Jim had many different occupations and interests in life including painting, reading, golf, baseball (at which he excelled in his younger days), the outdoors, music and much more. He was a kind, generous and creative person who left the world in a better place. Jim loved animals, especially his dog Buddy and his cat Whiskers. Jim was born in Lorain, grew up in Avon and attended Holy Trinity School, St. Edward High School and Lorain County Community College.
Jim is survived by his sister, Mary Kay (Mike) Bierek; brother, Dave (Arlene) Lengyel; good friends, Phil and Renee Dore and many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Richard.
In respect to Jim's wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date. Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, OH 44090 is assisting the family with arrangements.
