James William "Bill" Norris

James William “Bill” Norris, 74, of Wellington, died Friday, July 3, 2026, at home. Born on August 1, 1951, in Kopperston, WV, he was the son of the late Edward and Geneva (nee Turner) Norris. Bill grew up in North Ridgeville before moving to Wellington.

Bill worked as a machinist for many years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors as well as playing chess and ping pong. Bill was an avid Ohio State fan. Most of all he cherished time spent with his family.

Survivors include his children, James Norris, Jr, of Elyria, Christy (Tim) Adkins, of Sheffield Lake, Jason Norris, of LaGrange, Sarah Dooley, of Lorain, and Matthew (Sally) Norris, of Wellington; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry Norris, Peggy Oster, Roger Norris, Doris Lucas, Patty Scarvelli, and Nancy Reid. He was preceded in death by his wife, Michelle Norris and siblings, Carolyn Simmons, Linda Randolph, Donnie Norris, Judy Simmons, Bobby Norris, and Charlie Norris.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, July 7, from 4-7 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, Wellington, where services will be held on Wednesday beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
