James H. Rosecrans, age 61, of Wellington died Sunday, October 14 at Allen Medical Center. He was born February 17, 1946 in Oberlin to the late Donald and Bertha (Gallatin) Rosecrans. James graduated from Black River High School in 1964 and was a lifelong Lorain County resident.
James served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He retired from General Motors in 1997 after thirty years of employment. James enjoyed farming and fishing. He liked to work on crosswords and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Liane; two daughters, Hollie (Todd) Sorah and Heidi (Brian) Hart, both of Oberlin; three stepchildren, Tracie (Scott) Kreighbaum of PA, Craig (Erin) Dalton of Columbus, and Kirk (Abigail) Dalton of Wellington; and six grandchildren, Mason, Marissa, Kalob, Maisie, Logan, and Willem. He is also survived by three brothers, Raymond, Donald, and Dennis Rosecrans and three sisters, Carol Gillenwater, Cindy Storrow, and Betty Misko. James was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Wyer.
Friends may call on Tuesday, October 16 from 6-9 pm at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
