James C. Spettle, 65, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away on November 16, 2025, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center. He was born on November 20, 1959, in Norwalk, to the late James and Barbara (Brown) Spettle, and was a 1978 Norwalk St. Paul High School graduate.
After high school James continued his studies at Ashland University, where he also played baseball, graduating with a teaching degree. Jim loved sports, was an avid golfer, and huge Ohio State, and all Cleveland professional sports teams fan. He also loved Bruce Springsteen.
James worked for Geotrac for 15 years, and then Walmart for 11 years. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Norwalk.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Melissa (Harper) Spettle; son, Marcus Clark of Norwalk; siblings, Debra (Craig) Moffit of Norwalk, Jill (Bryan) Stone of Wellington, Daniel (Kathy) Spettle of Norwalk, and David Spettle of Norwalk; sisters in-law, Leslie Campbell-Thompson, Sherrie Harper, Monica Wooten, Melanie Harper, and Melinda Harper; as well as several nieces and nephews, and uncles.
In addition to his parents, and grandparents, he was also preceded in death by his father in-law, Leslie "Duke" Harper, and mother in-law, Marjorie Harper, and several aunts and uncles.
Friends and family are invited to his visitation on Friday, November 21, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio. A funeral service will begin at 3:30 p.m. with Deacon Mike Wasiniak officiating.
