Obituary

James 'Jim' Harold Wacker, 60, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at his home following a short illness. Born in Lodi on February 5, 1949 to Leon and Genevieve Wacker, Jim was a lifelong resident of the Wellington and Brighton areas. He graduated with the Wellington High School Class of 1967. Jim worked as a tool and die maker at General Motors and Sectional Die. He owned and operated B & J Machining. Jim was a member of AA and he enjoyed bow hunting and fishing for walleye. His hobbies also included gardening and ballroom dancing with his wife. Jim will be remembered as a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend. Survivors include his wife, Linda (nee Kominar); four children, Julie (Louis) Wagner of Wellington, Jill (Matt) Mull of Wellington, James (Marlene) Wacker of LaGrange and Jeanna Kirschner of Huntington and 8 grandchildren, Cassandra, Christopher, Cody, Bailey, Madison, Mia, Emma and Whitney. Jim is also survived by his father, Leon Wacker of Huntington and his siblings, Bill Wacker of South Carolina, Judy Ferry of Kentucky, Brenda Johnson of South Carolina, John Wacker of Mississippi and Bob Wacker of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his mother, Genevieve (nee Gordon) Wacker. Friends and family will be received at the United Church of Huntington, 26677 State Route 58, on Friday, July 10 from 5-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Stephen Carmany officiating.
