Janet L. Clemons, formerly of rural Willard, Ohio, passed away peacefully in the early hours of March 13, 2025, at Meadow Grove Transitional Care in Grove City, Ohio. She was 86 years old.

Janet was born December 17, 1938, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Max Lowell Freed and Rhea Irene (Forney) Freed Balthaser. During her early years, Janet lived in Greenwich, Ohio, with her parents and grandparents, Lola and Elmore Forney, who worked at the Greenwich train depot. The family later moved to Zephyr Hills, Florida, where Janet was a 1956 graduate of Zephyr Hills High School. Janet returned to Ohio to marry Thomas L. Clemons on June 19, 1956. They shared 60 wonderful years together.

Janet welcomed all who came to her home. She helped on the farm as well as gardened, canned, sewed, was a Sunday School teacher, band booster, ran her own upholstery business, and later worked in the Deli at Gardner's Grocery in Norwalk. Janet cherished family gatherings; her laughter and presence at these events will be missed by her entire family.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, sisters, Patricia and Bonnie Lou, and daughter, Karen Clemons Seidel.

Janet is survived by brother Arthur Freed of Dade City, FL , Paul (Pam) Freed of Andover, KS, and her children, Sherron (George) Edge of Grove City, Kevin (Debbie) Clemons of Ashland, Curtis (DeAnn) Clemons of Cuyahoga Falls, Mallory (Deb) Clemons of North Fairfield, and P. Scott Clemons of Collins; grandchildren Amy Clemons, Andrew Edge, Jeremy Brant, Jessie Clemons, Cameron Brant, Taylor Clemons, Rebecca Edge, Mary Beth Clemons, Brittany Burkett, Bryce Clemons, Sarah Spaner, Caleb Clemons, Hannah Clemons, David Seidel, Raechel Ruggles, Claire Clemons, Grant Seidel, Grady Seidel, Ethan Seidel; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Janet's visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. (noon) at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main St, Greenwich, OH 44837, where funeral services will begin after the visitation at 12 p.m. (noon). Burial will follow the funeral service at North Fairfield Cemetery.
