Janet Olsen, 76, of Wellington, died Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Fisher Titus Medical Center in Norwalk. Born on November 2, 1934 in Wellington to the late Roy and Dorothy (nee Buston) Moore, Janet attended Brighton schools before graduating from Wellington High School.
A member of the First Baptist Church of Wellington, Janet taught Sunday School and Children's Church and was active with Awana and the Missionary Society. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and spending time with family.
Survivors include her children, David (Robin) Olsen, of Missouri, Laura (Steve) Hoy, of Nova, Susan (Ed) Brosius, of Sullivan, Doug (Camille) Olsen, of Nova and Todd (Jenni) Olsen, of Milan; 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Janet is also survived by her twin sister, Jane Sikora, of Wellington and sister, Mary Lou Dye, of Wellington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Olsen; son, Terry Olsen and sister, Shirley Croskey.
Friends and family will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 7 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Wellington, 125 Grand Ave., with Rev. Thomas Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. Donations in Janet's memory may be directed to the First Baptist Church.
