EASTMAN FUNERAL HOME 419-929-3781 Janet M. Rice, age 86, of Greenwich , died Monday, May 28, 2007 at Hillside Acres Nursing Home, Willard after a lengthy illness. She was born July 27, 1920 in Greenwich , daughter of the late Harry H. and Lala Fern (Moser) Crum. She had been a lifelong resident of Greenwich . Mrs. Rice was a 1937 graduate of Greenwich High School and a 1941 graduate of Bowling Green State University . She taught one year at Attica High School as a Business Teacher. Then she went to work at Islays Stores as a manager of bookkeeping. She and her husband operated and later owned Crum's Hardware Store in Greenwich for 30 years. She retired at the age of 55 and spent winters in Florida for 25 years and traveled to many other places. She was a 60 year member of the O.E.S. and was a worthy Matron in 1951, she was a lifelong member of the Greenwich United Methodist Church . Mrs. Rice was a devoted family person. She loved to dance, she loved flowers and was a very good card player. She is survived by her husband, Bob Rice, whom she married June 6, 1943; 2 daughters, JoAnn McCleery and Susan (Jeff) Nagel all of Whithouse , Ohio ; 2 grandchildren, Kelsey Nagel of Whitehouse and Bobby (Kristi) McCleery of East Lansing, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her son in law, Robert McCleery. Friends may call from 2 ' 4 p.m. and 7 ' 9 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main St., Greenwich where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 1, with Pastor Georgette Gaston of the Greenwich United Methodist Church officiating.
