Janet F. Walker died on June 3, 2012.
Janet was born in Fairmont, West Virginia on March 2, 1936. She was the oldest child of Richard and Susan Young. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Gerald L. Walker.
A resident of Bellville for the past 6 years, she and her husband lived in Nova, Ohio, for40 years, where they raised their family. She belonged to Nova United Methodist Church. She was secretary at Mapleton Middle School in Nova for 18 years. She is a 38 year member of the Order of Easter Star.
She loved the outdoors, watching birds, and gardening. She was especially happy to 'make a piece of silk out of a sow's ear,' to quote her mother.
She is survived by four daughters, her pride and joy: Debra O'Beirne (Richard) of
Herndon, VA; Brenda Baker (Randy) of Bellville, OH; Sherri Schmidt (Charles) of Woodside, CA; and Patricia Wilson (David) of Hilliard, OH. She treasured her five grandchildren: Jeremy Kempton, Tyler Wilson, Patrick O'Beirne, Tori Schmidt and Janet Rae Schmidt. She will be missed by her sister, Eleanor Frazier (Gary), of Roseburg, OR; and her brother, Richard Young (Linda), of Terre Haute, IN.
Visitation hours will be from noon until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 9 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London with Rev. Johnny Heckard officiating. Light refreshments will be served at the Nova United Methodist Church after the service. The family will hold a reception at her home at 316 West Durbin Circle in Bellville at 6:00 p.m.
