Janet Marie Wargo, 84, of New London passed away Sunday morning, May 29, 2022, at Gaymont Nursing Home in Norwalk.  Janet was born on May 30, 1937, in Westlake, OH to the late Joseph and Nellie (Biermacher) Wissman.

Janet graduated from Westlake High School as a member of the class of 1955. She was a homemaker and loving mother of eight.  She was also a skilled seamstress for C.E. Ward and New London Regalia. Janet was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where she served on the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also involved in her children's activities and was President of the Band Parents for Mapleton High School. In her spare time, Janet enjoyed baking, decorating cakes, and using her green thumb for gardening and planting vegetables. Janet had a very caring heart and it showed in her interactions with people. She especially loved babies and enjoyed every moment with them. Janet's greatest joy of all was spending time with her family.

Janet is survived by her 7 children, Sharon (David) Anderson of Westerville, Kurt (Margaret) Wargo of Nova, Stephen (Karen) Wargo of Ruggles, James Wargo of Nova, Diane (Earl) Lambert of Columbus, Gregory (Connie Skaggs) Wargo of Monroeville, and Andrew (Theresa) Wargo of Norwalk; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and brother, Thomas (Margaret) Wissman of Westlake.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Wargo; son, Michael Wargo; granddaughter, Sarah Wargo; and sisters, Arlene Brause and Jo-Ann Collins.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London, OH 44851. A prayer service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the funeral home at 10:30 am before a procession to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Avenue, New London, OH 44851 for a 11 am Funeral Mass. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
