Janice Lynn McClaflin, 72, of Wellington, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain. Born in Lodi, on November 17, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Muriel (nee Baker) and Leonard McClaflin. Jan moved to Florida in 1974 and returned to Wellington in 1996. She was a 1968 Wellington High School graduate and attended Ohio University where she received her Bachelor's degree in education.

Jan formerly worked for St. Augustine in Cleveland, Sarasota Christian School in Florida and substituted for various private schools. She retired as a Recreation Director at the Grafton Correctional Institute. Jan attended the Brighton Congregational Church and truly enjoyed traveling, reading, and being the best aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her siblings, Karen (Steve) Thornhill, Jackie Simmons, Larry (Theresia) McClaflin and Susan (Ken) Guthrie; 13 nieces and nephews; 16 great nieces and nephews and 7 great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Donald and Thomas McClaflin.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Brighton Congregational Church, 22086 State Route 511, Wellington, beginning at 1 pm where services will start at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Rochester Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital, St. Jude Children's Hospital or Brighton Congregational Church.
