Jason Todd Swope, 43, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 following a brief illness. Born on October 5, 1965 at the Wellington Hospital, Jason remained a Wellington resident his entire life and graduated with the Wellington High School class of 1983.
He worked at Forest City for 22 years. Jason was a member of the Wellington Eagles and a dart league. He enjoyed golf, coaching softball and loved the Browns. Most importantly, Jason was a wonderful father who loved his children; he especially enjoyed watching his girls play sports.
Survivors include his two daughters, Shannon Kathleen Swope and Ally Michelle Swope, both of Wellington; his mother, Mary Lou Bartish of Wellington; five siblings, Vicki Boden of Indian Shores, FL, Rhonda Browand of Medina, Lisa Swope of Knoxville, TN, Kelly Swope of Medina, Joshua Mellick of Wellington; and his aunts and uncles. Jason was preceded in death by his father, Charles Swope; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Swope and Dean and Donnie Regal and several aunts and uncles.
Friends and family will be received from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, December 8 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday with Pastor Chris Reutepohler officiating. Burial will follow at Huntington Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through memorial contributions to the family.
