Jay Alan Sheldon, 55, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Elms Retirement Home in Wellington following an illness. Born on June 9, 1959 to the late Donald and Vera (nee Luce) Sheldon, Jay grew up in Wellington and was a 1977 Wellington High School graduate. He served his country in the Navy following graduation. Jay worked for Kuchenrither Trucking Company in North Ridgeville for 21 years. He greatly enjoyed fishing and traveling. He is survived by children, Candi Aldridge, of Elyria, Mandy Thorton and Jason Sheldon, both of Lorain; 6 grandchildren, Richard Aldridge, Jr., Justin Aldridge, Destiny Green, Diamond Sheldon, Jack Thorton and Alex Thorton. Jay is also survived by siblings, John (Nadra) Sheldon, of Sullivan, Judy (Harry) Wetherbee and Jeff (Violet) Sheldon, both of Wellington. A memorial dinner will be held at the Kelly Street Fire Station, 202 Kelly Street, Wellington, from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014. Please bring a dish. Jay requested that those in attendance wear jeans and wolf t-shirts. The family requests that any donations in memory of Jay be made to a memorial fund set up through either Fifth Third Bank or First Merit Bank.
