Jean M. Neel, 87, of New London died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at The Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Firelands in New London following a several month illness. Born in Elyria on April 29, 1921 to the late Lawrence K. and Alberta (nee Braun) Foreman, Jean originally lived near Wakeman and was a 1939 Wakeman High School graduate. She earned a degree from the Oberlin Business College and she moved to New London in 1943. Jean was a member of the New London United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Ohio Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Doyle; three sons and daughter-in-laws, David and Tru Neel of Dublin, Larry and Nid Neel of Seattle, WA and Mark and Kay Neel of Columbus; and a granddaughter, Abby. Jean was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Foreman. Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 7 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service. Rev. Cathy Ake will officiate and burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New London.
