Obituary

Jeffrey Alan Moehlman, age 68, of Norwalk died on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Firelands Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born April 11, 1956, in Norwalk, he graduated from St. Paul High School in 1974. He worked as a heavy equipment operator with the union for 30 years.

A hard worker, Jeffrey was also a true outdoorsman. He was a passionate gardener, beekeeper, and hunter who enjoyed working at Ropper's Farm. He also liked riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. Jeff will be remembered as a craftsman; both woodworking and culinary specialties were of interest to him, and he made many beautiful woodcrafts and prepared excellent meals including processing his own meats to make bacon, sausages, and wild game among other dishes that family and friends enjoyed. Family and friends were most important to Jeff, he cherished the time that he spent with those he loved and was always willing to help another person out. He took many side projects including excavation and assorted earthworks to assist others.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Jodi (Hendrickson), whom he wed on October 15, 1977; three children, Leah (Heshan Fernando) Moehlman of Columbus, Tyler (Hannah) Moehlman of Collins, and Barrett Moehlman of Collins; two grandchildren, Noah and Liam; two sisters, Patricia (Glenn) Tinker of Marblehead, and Pamela (Albert Smith) Moehlman of Swanton; a brother-in-law, Richard Shaffer, of Toledo; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bette (Cheatham) Moehlman; and a sister, Paula Shaffer.

In accordance with Jeff's wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home in Norwalk is honored to assist the family with their arrangements.
