Jerrod David Howe (Jerry), 59, passed away on December 3, 2025, in Nevada, as the result of a tragic traffic accident. He made his home most recently in Winter Haven, Florida, and spent much of his life in Wellington, Ohio, and Acworth, Georgia.
Jerry was born on November 7, 1966, in Oberlin, Ohio. He was a 1985 graduate of Black River High School and Medina County Career Center. A hard worker his entire life, Jerry most recently found joy working as an over-the-road truck driver, a job that took him to all corners of the country. He was especially proud of having visited all 48 of the lower United States.
Above all else, Jerry loved his family. He was a devoted husband, caring father, son, brother, and friend. Those who knew Jerry will remember his great sense of humor, his ability to see the positive in any situation, and his kind, good-hearted, and giving nature. He had a gift for retelling stories from the past with such clear detail that it felt like you were right there with him…just like his Grandpa Howe. His laughter, warmth, and steadiness will be deeply missed.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 14 years, Debby Howe; his adult children, Emily, Madison, Mallory, and Justin; his parents, John and Joan Eaton; his sisters, Melanie Rollin (Darrell) and Amy Davison (Dan) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, David Howe, and his grandparents, Doren and Leota Howe, Gertrude Garretson and Richard Heiffner, and Weldon and Mary Eaton.
There will be no visitation at this time. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at a later date. Fond memories and condolences can be given at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
