IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerry Glenn
Myers
February 18, 1936 – April 14, 2023
Jerry Glenn Myers, 87, of Penfield, died Friday, April 14, 2023, at University Hospital, Cleveland. Born on February 18, 1936, in LaGrange, he was the son of the late Glenn and Eleanor (nee Buzwell) Myers. Jerry was a 1954 graduate of LaGrange High School.
Jerry retired from Columbia Gas. He was a crop farmer his whole life and when he was younger had owned the corner store in Penfield. Jerry was passionate about Belgian draft horses and raised, bred and sold them for many years. He showed and competed with them in the county fairs for years and was the oldest living participant at the Lorain County Fair. Jerry truly enjoyed passing his passion for draft horses on to others. He was also very proud that there was a statue of one of his stud's in a museum in Cincinnati. Jerry was also proud to be living in the Penfield Home, a house that was chosen to represent Ohio in a book of interesting homes.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jacquelyn (nee Botamer); children, Brenda Wise, Brian Myers, Barb Myers, Jeff Myers; grandchildren, Lyndi Slack, Kayla Wilbond, Jayce, Katie, Cade, and Cami Myers; great-grandchildren, Jerry and Tanner Orsik; and siblings, Maryann Davis and Gordon Myers. Jerry was preceded in death by his siblings, Donna Markle, Al Myers, Paul Myers, and Ron Myers.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, April 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, where services will be held on Thursday, beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Penfield Cemetery.
