Obituary

Jesse Denver Sanders, 92, of Sullivan, died Friday, August 19, 2022 at University Hospital, EMH. Born on May 21, 1930 in Rockhold, KY, he was the son of the late William Elbert and Chlora (nee Sears) Sanders. Jesse lived most of his adult life in the Ashland County area.

Jesse served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and later worked for Stanadyn Corp. A man of strong faith, he was an ordained minister with the Southern Baptist church and served as an interim pastor for various local churches. Jesse enjoyed tending to his yard and mowing the grass. He also looked forward to visiting and caring for others. He will be remembered for claiming to be sweet kind and lovable. Most of all Jesse cherished his children and grandchildren and the time spent with them.

Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Nellie (nee Burris); children Nita (Jon) Kessler, of Celina, Caroline Sue Blankenship, of Medina, and Dee Sanders, of Wellington; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Jesse was preceded in death by 10 siblings, his son Darrel Sanders, and a great grandson Christian.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, August 27 from 10 a.muntil the time of services beginning at 11 a.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, burial will follow at Sullivan Southview Cemetery. A livestream of the service will be available at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com, and expressions of sympathy may be left there as well.
