Jessie J. Bowser, 82, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully, on June 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 30, 1943, in Baltimore, MD, to the late Paul and Dorothy (Balliet) Bowser. Jessie grew up in Hollidaysburg, PA, moving to Ohio in 5th grade, where he lived in the area until his passing.
Jessie was married on May 16, 1964, to Prudence "Prudy" J. (Zika) Bowser, and the two shared 61 years together, raising their family. In addition to his loving wife Prudy Bowser, he is survived by their children, Andrea (Stuart) Hamilton of Berlin Heights, David Bowser of Huron, and Mandy (Jeff) Fontaine of Dublin; grandchildren, Grace Avery Fontaine, and Laurence Byron Fontaine; siblings, Lester Bowser and Jennifer Hensley. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jessie enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, cycling, cruising in his 1969 Corvette, and his Ford Model A, Westerns, Hallmark movies, and bench sitting. He also loved horses, driving teams, coon hunting with his dogs, and the farm. He was a hard worker, working as a butcher at the former Sandusky Dressed Beef for 31 years, and later Lear Plastic Molding for 15 years.
In keeping with Jessie's wishes there are no public services planned at this time. Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, Norwalk is honored to assist the Bowser family with Jessie's arrangements and care.
