Jewell Marie Stallard, 93, of Wellington, passed away Friday afternoon, July 21, 2023, at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin.

Jewell was born on September 27, 1929, in Baston, VA, to the late Virgie Johnson Stanley and Malcom Stanley. She grew up in Virginia and moved her family to Wellington in the early 1960's. Jewell was employed at Westwood and McCormick Schools as a custodian. She was a devoted member of Freewill Baptist Church in Wellington. In her spare time, Jewell enjoyed singing gospel music and quilting. She was a skilled cook and enjoyed making food for her family.

Jewell is survived by 4 children, Jerry (Betty) of Lorain, Eddie (Claudine) of Wellington, Donnie of Medina, and Mickie (Cheryl) of Elyria; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Rutherford of Oberlin, and brother, Fred Stanley of Wellington.

In addition to her parents, Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Stallard; brothers, Ray, Billie, and Glenn, and sister, Pattie Jo.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main Street, Wellington, OH 44090. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 11 am at Freewill Baptist Church, 205 Woodland Street, Wellington, OH 44090. The burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
