Jim E. Stratton, 60, of Fitchville, died Monday, September 29, 2014 at The Laurels of New London Nursing Home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 16, 1953, in Lorain to the late Donald and Rita (Ruebel) Stratton. James retired after 30 years from Ford Motor Company in Lorain, After retirement he did woodworking and made cabinets . James was a member of the New London Eagles #2869. He had earned his pilot license and enjoyed flying, camping, and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Renee (Holcomb); son Erik (Charity) Stratton of Elyria, daughter Melissa Stratton of New London; 5 grandchildren; 2 sister Donna (Howard) Brust of Urbana and Peggy (Mike) Ropelewsky of Sheffield Lake. In addition to his parents, James was also preceded in death by an infant son, Scott. A memorial gathering and lunch will be held in James's honor at the New London Eagles 29 West Fir St. New London from 2 - 5 pm on October 19th.
