Joan Betty Miller Deering, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 19, 2021.

Joan was born March 14, 1927 to Carl F. and Amelia (Schoewe) Miller. Joan was the tenth of eleven children raised on the family farm on Bardshar Road in Castalia, OH. She was a 1945 Margaretta High School graduate.

She married George Edward Deering on October 29, 1946. They started their life farming with George's brother Frederick on Ransom Rd, Monroeville. In 1955 they bought into the Greenwich Mill & Elevator and moved to Greenwich, OH.

Joan was a member of the Greenwich United Methodist Church and Eastern Star and Greenwich History Class Group.

George and Joan had four children: Mark of Greenwich, Karen (Michael) Brogan of Hilliard, Paul (Jenny) of Athens and Kathryn Mosser of Norwalk; eight grandchildren: Gregory (Rebecca) of Lewis Center, Timothy of Cuyahoga Falls, James Halterman of Plain City, Kara Mosser, Chase Deering, Sarah Deering, Nathan Deering and Matthew Deering; five great-grandchildren: Tyler, Talon, Taylor and Andrew Deering and Stella Halterman. She is also survived by sister-in-law Shirley Miller and many nieces and nephews.

Joan is preceded in death by her husband George E. Deering, brothers Elmer (Bernice) Miller, Lee (Ilo) Miller, Carl (Dorothy) Miller, Paul (Mary) Miller, Quentin (Jean) Miller, Calvin Miller, August (Arlene) Miller and John Miller and sisters Esther (Art) Behnke and Dora (Wayne) Myers and brother-in-law Frederick (Dorothy) Deering and son-in-law Michael Mosser.

Private family services will be held with the Rev. John Grim and Rev. Lance Franke. Interment taking place at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.
