Joan (McMorrow) Nutter, 94, passed away on January 8, 2026, at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 11, 1931, in Clay County, West Virginia to the late Willis and Mattie (Duffield) McMorrow. She was a graduate of Montgomery High School. Joan Married Kenneth Nutter on September 22, 1950, and together they raised six children.
Joan spent most of her years as a wife and homemaker. She babysat for her grandchildren as well as numerous neighborhood children. Later in life, she worked for Comfort Keepers taking care of the elderly. Joan attended the Calvary Baptist Church, Milan Evangelical Friends Church, First Baptist Church in Norwalk and most recently attended Rooted in Christ with her daughter-in-law, Judy.
Joan is survived by her children, Scott (Lori), Jon (Judy), Todd, and Eric (Tricia) all of Norwalk; her grandchildren, Ryan (Sherri) Nutter of Centerville, Ohio, Kevin (Christie) of Beavercreek, Ohio, Audrey Nutter of Cleveland, Sarah Nutter of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Hannah Nutter of Williamston Michigan; Her great-grandchildren, Macie, Max, and Miles of Centerville, and Kyle of Beavercreek. Joan is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death, by her husband, Kenneth in 1989; her daughter, Debbie in 1974; and son, Duane in 2025; and her siblings, Opal Ramsey, Paul McMorrow, Clarence McMorrow, Pearly Alice Nutter, Edna Butler, Mary Etta Duffield, Hester Graham, Rosalie Miller; and a very special niece, Margie McMorrow.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral Service will take place following the conclusion of the visitation period beginning at 1:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
