Joan Diann Springer, 74, of Wellington, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at the New Life Hospice Center in Lorain. She was born on August 2, 1939 in Brunswick to the late Ray Perry and Ruth (nee Dent) Heath. Joan grew up in Elyria and later moved to the Wellington area.
Joan was a member of the Housewives of America and she enjoyed gardening and canning. She collected milk glass, and liked to paint and do liquid embroidery.
Joan is survived by her children Charles "Chuck" Donald Springer Jr., Diann Louise Hetman, and Cynthia Ann Kelley, 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Donnie, Carol, Ruthie, Linda, Shirley, and Gary. Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Charles Sr. as well as siblings Alice, Patty, Ray, Ralph, Thelma "Pudge", Kitty, Betty, and Rita.
Friends and family will be received on Friday August 30, from 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, where services will be held on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Pittsfield East Cemetery.
