Obituary

Joan Wells, 90, of Wellington died Sunday, July 29, 2012. She was born on April 30, 1922 in Betsy Lane KY to the late Arthur Bowling and Myrtle (nee Burchett) Hall. Joan spent most of her youth in Kentucky and moved to the Wellington area in the late 50's Joan worked for the Wellington School system as a Cleaning Matron. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church for 70 years. Joan also owned and operated the Strawberry Trailer at the Lorain County Fair. She loved to travel and went on several bus tours and traveled across Europe. Joan also had a volunteer's heart helping with the Office on Aging, Meals on Wheels, and in the school library. Joan is survived by her children Anna Ruth (Larry) Stewart of Lexington KY, Belva (Leland) Seeley, Johnene (Glen) Knapp both of Wellington, Larry (Sandy) Wells of Pandora, and Donna O'Brien also of Wellington, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Joan is also survived by her special friend Carl Kennedy and her church family as well as her brother Jimmy Williamson of Pikeville KY. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, John D. Wells, 3 brothers and a sister, and 4 infant great grandchildren. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, August 1 from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 until the time of services at 11 a.m. at the Free Will Baptist Church, 205 Woodland St., Wellington. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington, Rev. Eddy Kennedy officiating.
