Joan Wright, 79, of Norwalk, Ohio, died on May 26, 2023, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.  She was born on June 2, 1943, in Willard, Ohio, to the late Jessie (Barnett) and Leo Roberts.

An active member of her church, Trinity Temple Church in Berlin Heights, Joan enjoyed fishing, puzzles, and card games.  She loved family gatherings, and after her mother, Jessie passed, she assumed the role of family matriarch.  When she was younger, she also enjoyed riding her bicycle and camping.

She is survived by her children, Ronnie (Sarah Gage) Christie, Treasa (Dominick) Salzano, Edward (Minnie) Christie, Emmitt Christie, and Helena (Billy) Shuttlesworth; brother, Jim Roberts; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Wright; stepfather, Eugene Mundy; siblings, William Roberts, Thelma Locke, Susan Smith, and Harry Roberts; grandson, Zachary Christie; and daughter in-law, Suzie Thompson-Christie.

A celebration of Joan's life is being planned for a later date.  Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, OH 44857, is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
