Joanne Grace McConeghy, 49, of Wellington died Saturday, December 20, 2014, after a long illness. She was born on October 3, 1965 in Oberlin to the late Howard and Jeanette (nee Hawley) McConeghy. Joanne was a 1984 graduate of Black River High School.
Joanne worked for Our Lady of the Wayside in Avon in the Rehabilitation department. She was a member of the Cleveland Police Officer Memorial Society. Joanne loved to go to the Lorain County Fair, She also enjoyed trips to Amish Country, and dancing.
Joanne is survived by sister, Pam (Waylon) Green of Wellington and their children Delaney and Sebastian; sister, Sophia Samples (Tim) of Elyria and her children Veronica, Clinton, and Cody; brother, Dalton (Michelle) Espy of West Salem and their daughters Emily, Rebbecca, Allison, and Nadia; and dear friend, Brandy (Daniel) Burke of Fairchance, PA and their children Daniel and Clemmer. She is also survived by her great niece, Andrea and great nephew, Kai and many cousins. Joanne was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Espy and great nephew, Marcos.
Friends and family will be received on Sunday, December 28, from 1-3 with a celebration of life beginning at 3 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, Wellington.
