Joe Stevens Sr., 71, lifelong resident of New London died on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at home.  He was born on November 13, 1948 in New London, the son of the late Mack and Jessie Stevens.

Joe retired as a construction superintendent from OSECO in Norwalk after 40 years.  He was a member of the Air National Guard.  Joe was a simple man, who enjoyed being outside and spending time with friends.  One thing Joe loved was Nascar racing.  In addition to his family, Joe leaves behind his beloved dog, Brutus.

Joe is survived by his wife of 19 years, Janet (Johnson) Stevens; children, Stephanie (Randy) Spillane, Joe Jr. (Trina) Stevens, Brad (Danielle Casteel) Stevens and Lindsay (Ben Stout) Stevens; numerous grandchildren and brother, Gregory (Ann) Stevens.

Visitation will be Monday, February 24, 2020 from 5-8 p.m. at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London.  Where Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 25, at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at the Grove Street Cemetery, New London.  Online condolences may be made at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
