Obituary

John J. Cika, a veteran, died Sunday, March 1, 2009. Born on June 7, 1940, John was raised in Youngstown. He worked as a baker in Youngstown. He moved to Cleveland in the early 1970s to become a successful business agent for Bakers Union Local 19 and Teamsters Local 507. John found his work for the unions and their members very rewarding and had fond memories of both members and colleagues. John retired to customizing and fixing up antique cards. He was never far away from a friend in need and John's generosity was boundless. John is survived by his wife, Christina; mother, Dorothy; brother, Frank; daughters, Cinthia, Christina and Charlene and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, John Joseph Cika and a brother, Mike. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington.
