John M. Hofacker, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the age of 96.  He was born on July 21, 1928, in Monroeville, Ohio, to the late Martin and Loretta (Obringer) Hofacker, and graduated from Monroeville High School in 1946.

John was an avid sports fan, faithful to the Cleveland Indians (Guardians), Cavs, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Browns.  He enjoyed working out in his yard and spending any time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

John served his country as part of the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Norwalk American Legion, Post 41, Knights of Columbus, former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroeville, and longtime member of St Mary Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, John was most recently preceded in death by his loving wife, Therese (Kocher) Hofacker, in May; brothers, Robert, Thomas, and James; and grandson, Brian Coder.

He is survived by his children, Linda (John) Bell, James (Sarah) Hofacker, Julie (Kevin) Leibold, and Sharon (Dave) Hurley; grandchildren, John Hofacker, Amy Smiley, Jason Leibold, Sean Coder, Kristin Leibold, Leah Ahern, Brian Hurley; and 12 great grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to John's visitation on Monday, November 4, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio.  A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, 38 W. League St., Norwalk, Ohio, 44857 beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Fr.
