John Marrell Holbrook, 82, of Amherst, went home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2018. He was born on March 7, 1936 in Millstone Kentucky. Beloved husband of 64 years to Minerva D. (nee Wiley); loving father to Mary Jane (Wayne) Whyte, Kathy (Dale) Barris, and Carolyn (Mahmoud deceased) Abouelhana; cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Brittnee, Kendra, Lauren and Alex; adoring great-grandfather of Madeleine, Travis and Wiley; preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters. He worked at the Lorain Ford Plant for 33 years. A man of great faith and devotion who was a deacon for 45 years and member of Wellington Free Will Baptist Church with his beloved wife since 1991. Funeral services will be held on December 12 at Wellington Free Will Baptist Church, 205 Woodland St., Wellington, OH, beginning at 11 AM with additional visitation from 10-11 AM.
