IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John D.
“Jd” Pothorski
January 30, 1971 – July 31, 2024
John D. "JD" Pothorski, 53, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away on July 31, 2024, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, after many health ailments. John was born on January 30, 1971, in Canton, Ohio, to Elizabeth (Shotwell) Pothorski and the late John A. Pothorski. He graduated from Monroeville High School where he played basketball and football and EHOVE, where he completed their electrical technician program.
John was a very kind, generous and giving person, who endured a lot. He loved animals, especially cats. Despite his debilitating frequent headaches he often found joy by helping others and making people laugh, sometimes with a clean joke, other times…not as clean. He loved campfires, and cooking over an open flame. John especially liked the Dallas Cowboys, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and NY Islanders.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth (Shotwell) Pothorski; sister, Jennifer (Randy) Pelham; nieces, Kayla (Jeff) Burkett, and Courtney (Dre Lewis) Pelham; and great niece, Rylee Jane.
In addition to his father, John A. Pothorski, John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Evelyn and Lynn Shotwell, and paternal grandparents, Pearle and George Pothorski.
Family and close friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, from 10 a.m. until the time of the 12 p.m. (noon) service. In JD's honor, guests are invited to wear sports gear from his favorite sports teams.
