John Christopher Lawson, of Wellington, Ohio passed away peacefully on October 19, 2016. Originally from Chautauqua, NY, he was the son of the late Donald Lawson and Dorothy Lawson- Beal. Kris served in the U.S. Coast Guard in Alaska, starting in 1970, and was honorably discharged. He worked for United Consumer Financial Services in Westlake, Ohio for about 26 years, when he retired. After he began working at Wal-Mart in Oberlin, Ohio. He made many cherished friends over these years that he would do anything for. The pride of his life was being an active member of the American Legion in Wellington. His legion family and visiting other Legions when he traveled brought him great joy. Over the years he touched the hearts of many, and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by three brothers, Blair Lawson, Todd Lawson, and Scott Lawson. Kris is also survived by his niece, Wendy Williams (Lawson), three other nieces, two nephews and many other extended family members.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, November 3, from 12 until the time of services beginning at 1 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington, Ohio.
